From December 2008 ROSPHOTO is entrusted to perform functions of the scientific-methods centre for realization of the present Programme of the preservation of photographic documents kept in the State Funds of the Russian Federation (ORDER № 226 dated 4 December 2008).
Programme for preservation of Russian photographic fund supposes normalization of photography storage conditions realized stage-by-stage. This means that following work is to be performed: monitoring of collections; elaboration of projects on storage normalization; thorough study of equipment and materials; research on technical and technological characteristics of photo documents etc.
Programme of the State Russian Centre of Photography is realized in collaboration with leading Russian and foreign professional institutions.
